Do your window well covers have a warranty?

Our window well covers have a lifetime structural warranty to the original purchaser. Our warranty covers broken aluminum parts or locks and cracks in the polycarbonate cover. We do not cover cosmetic scratches and chips or any damage caused by alteration and misuse. See our full warranty here.

Can your covers be removed in case of an emergency?

We’ve designed our covers for quick, easy removal from the inside in case of an emergency. All of our covers include quick-release locking pins, which easily unlock by pulling on the pin. Once unlocked, the window well cover can be removed by simply pushing straight up and sliding it off.

Are your covers safe for children, pets, and adults to stand on?

Our window well covers are manufactured with extremely durable polycarbonate, and our listed size offerings are rated to confidently hold the weight of two grown adultshold. We also provide a complimentary locking mechanism that gives you added peace of mind that the cover will stay in place.

Do the covers block sunlight from entering the basement?

The polycarbonate material we use in our covers is crystal clear and will let in the same amount of light as a glass window.

Do your covers keep out water and snow?

Our covers offer the best in class weather protection for your home. Not only is each window well completely covered across the top, but they are sloped to shed water away from the house.

Do your covers provide insulation?

The polycarbonate we use for our window well covers is the same material used in many greenhouses. You will lose less heat from your basement windows with our covers installed.

Do your covers seal the window well shut?

No, our covers are designed to let plenty of natural airflow through so that mildew and mold don’t grow. Each cover rests ontop of the window well.

How do I measure my window wells to order the right size covers?

We need two simple measurements to get an idea of the size and price of your cover – width and projection. Width is measured along the house. Projection is measured outward from your house toward the yard and should be measured perpendicular to the furthest point of the window well. All measurements should be made to the outer edges of the well.

Is it a problem if my window sits higher than the well?

It depends on the window opening. If your window slides open, this will not be a problem. Just note – since the window extends above the well, there will be a small gap between the window and the cover.

If your window opens outward, there could be interference with our standard covers. Give us a call and we can talk through your specific situation.

Can I come pick the covers up and install them myself?

Yes, once we complete production of your window well covers, you can come to our Colorado Springs or Denver location to pick them up. We will provide you with step by step directions on how to install and secure your window well covers.

How long does it take to get my window well covers?

Once we complete our measurements of your window wells and you pay 50% down on your final quote, it is typically 2-3 weeks before we deliver and install the window well covers.

How do I provide the final payment?

We will email you an invoice you for the final amount shortly after your covers are installed. You can also pay in person if you are home.

Do I need to be home for the measurement or installation?

There is no need for you to be home as long as our service technician can access your window wells without any pets being present.
